Engineered flooring differs from traditional hardwood
flooring in that it is planks which are composed of wood
particles with a layer of hardwood flooring on top. One
of the advantages of engineered flooring is that is very
convenient as the wood comes sanded at stained. Engineered
flooring takes less time to install than traditional hardwood
flooring because it can be glued directly onto cement
or cork, or it can be nailed or glued to plywood. Flooring
can be walked on the next day after installation
Engineered flooring comes in a wide variety of colors
and sizes, just like traditional hardwood flooring. Engineered
flooring is especially good for high rises, where people
want the look of hardwood flooring but don’t have
the time or can’t have mess and noise of installation.
Because it is glued directly onto cork or soundproofing
material the floor level will not be as high as with traditional
hardwood flooring.
Some of the brands of engineered flooring we work with
are Mirage and Bruce.
